What is Tixster?
Tixster is a ticketing platform. Organizations use it to sell tickets and digital passes online, deliver them by email with a QR code, and check people in with a phone at the door or at boarding.
Is Tixster only for events?
No. Besides one-time event tickets, Tixster supports reusable passes, such as a weekly, monthly or semester transportation pass that is scanned every time a student boards.
How do people pay?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe in US dollars. Buyers can pay with a credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Do buyers need to download an app?
No. Tickets and passes arrive by email and open on any phone. Staff scan them from a web browser, so there is nothing to install.
Who pays the processing fees?
You decide. Fees can be included in your ticket price or shown to the buyer at checkout. We will walk you through the options during your demo.
When do I receive my money?
Payouts are sent to your bank account through Stripe on a regular schedule after your account is verified.
Can buyers get a refund?
Refund rules are set by each organizer or school. Contact the organizer of your event or route for refund requests.
I lost my ticket or pass. What should I do?
Search your inbox for the email from Tixster, including your spam folder. If you still can't find it, write to hello@tixster.net with the email address you used to buy.
What kinds of passes can we sell?
Weekly, monthly, semester or full school year passes. You choose which periods to offer and the price of each one, per route if needed.
Is the pass for one ride or many?
A pass is valid for every ride during its period. It is scanned each time the student boards, so you always know who is on the vehicle.
What happens when a pass expires?
The scanner shows it as expired right away, and families can renew online in a couple of minutes.
Do students need a smartphone?
No. The QR pass can be shown on a parent's phone, printed on paper or kept on a laminated card.
Who sees student information?
Only the school or operator that runs the route and the staff they authorize. Tixster does not sell student data or use it for advertising.
